SPV Grandparents Day 2024

Grandparents Day on Thursday, September 26 was a wonderful event for the St. Pius V School Community.

The morning began with grandparents attending the weekly all-school Mass with their grandchildren. Our pastor, Father John Maria Devaney, O.P., gave a beautiful homily in which he reminded us that even Jesus had grandparents, Saint Anne and Saint Joachim, who were examples of holiness that we can all look up to. SPV's praise band, Gloria Domino, wowed the grandparents with their beautiful and lively Eucharistic meditation and recessional songs.

Next, grandchildren were able to bring their grandparents to their homerooms for a brief classroom visit. The younger grades were able to give their grandparents sweet little art projects that they had worked on that week and complete a coloring activity with them.

The wonderful morning ended with a reception in the cafeteria. Grandparents and their grandchildren enjoyed delicious breakfast goodies and conversation. There were happy, smiling faces at every table!

Special thanks to the faculty and staff who planned and set up for such a beautiful day to celebrate our grandparents, and to the Student Council members who assisted in all aspects of the day.
